Annual Bird Counts

The health of bird populations directly reflects the state of our natural environment and the habitats upon which people and all flora and fauna rely. Bird count data collected by citizen scientists is used by biologists and naturalists to assess population trends, evaluate the distribution of birds, and guide policy decisions when protecting species and ecosystems.

A few of the bird counts that Nature London and its members participate in include the following:

  • Baillie Birdathon
  • Christmas Bird Count
  • Christmas Bird Count for Kids
  • The Great Canadian Birdathon
  • Great Backyard Bird Count

Details on upcoming bird counts can be found in The Cardinal and the Nature London Events Calendar.
