2023 BIOBLITZ OCTOBER 16-22
In support of the City’s 2023 Phase 1 Conservation Master Plan the City of London Ecology Department is inviting citizen scientists to venture out into the four Environmentally Significant Areas; Kains Woods, Lower Dingman, Pottersburg Valley and Warbler Woods. For details, see here.
YOUTH SUMMIT SPONSORSHIPS AUG 20 DEADLINE
Nature London is sponsoring two youths aged 14–20 at the 2023 Youth Summit for Mother Earth, September 22—24, for an action-packed, cross-cultural weekend of nature exploration, hands-on environmental education and outdoor land-based learning opportunities. One sponsorship is already filled, and the second is still open. The Youth Summit will be held at Camp Wahanowin, on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy, now known as Longford Mills, near Orillia. The Youth Summit will be held in compliance with Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit’s COVID-19 measures at the time of the event. Any NL youth interested in attending should contact director.dt@naturelondon.com as soon as possible to request a sponsorship, as the Ontario Nature deadline for registering is August 20th, 2023.
DRAFT BYLAWS FOR MEMBER REVIEW AND COMMENT
This is an invitation to Members of Nature London to review and comment on draft revised Bylaws for Nature London’s governance.
The Nature London Board of Directors, assisted by a subcommittee of the Board, has been revising our Bylaws with the help of Nonprofit Law Ontario to be compliant with Ontario’s Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010. This is part of an exercise to review, update and file our governing documents with the Ontario government and the Canada Revenue Agency.
