Pinery is home to many winter residents. It may be well known that by extending your hand around a campground, Black-capped Chickadees, Tufted Titmouses (or is that mice?), Nuthatches and more swoop down to see what you’re offering. It’s also a winter wonderland, especially when it snows. We’ll hike along the Ausable River where I’ve spotted beavers, coyotes, muskrats and more in the winter. The trail will be relatively level but may be slippery. Consider wearing good hiking footwear. Ice cleats might be prudent to bring along too. After a 2-hour hike, we’ll gather for a bagged lunch (make sure you bring one!) to share in our sightings of the day before parting ways. Pinery’s day pass is $21/vehicle. You might consider teaming up for the drive to share the cost. A confirmation email will be sent four and two days before, to all registered Nature London Members.
